According to relevant report, Singapore’s parliament recently announced that “all inland and port checkpoints in the country will be fully enabled to use iris biometrics through the checkpoint within two years”, fully promoting the efficiency of the Singapore Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA). Furthermore, Google proclaimed that it will be committed to implementing the native support of Android 9.0 system for iris recognition, with allowance of direct calls from third parties as well. According to industry forecasts, the market share of iris recognition technology will increase from 7% in 2015 to 16% in 2020, with compound annual growth rate of more than 36%.
